I just recently purchased a Sapphire ATI Radeon 9000 Pro to replace my old geforce2. I uninstalled all previous drivers and removed any trace of it from the registry. I shut down my computer and replaced my old video card with the new one. Plugged the monitor back in, turned on the power and booted up my computer. When I get to the welcome screen it just freezes and errors pop up saying that desktop.ini could not be saved and something about hardware failure. I can't even boot all the way to my desktop. I'm pretty sure it isn't the video card because I have already sent it back and got it replaced. I've tried updating my bios and installing all the newest updates. Is my power supply too weak? Are there any updates I am missing? Anyone else experience this problem? I am using my old video card now and I am running off of Windows XP.

This will be a hassel but to reformat and install the OS.
This will fix your OS and your new Radeon will work great.
This goes for both the posts in this thread, SB cards will work with Radeon cards if you have the SB installed in PCI slot "3".
That is normally where sound cards should be installed prior to installing the OS.
This is an old sound policy and proceedure that works.
