Looks good, just my luck that the Maxtor I purchased in Nov 2002 went up in flames Saturday.
The only place I could find that had Hard Drives with a good quality for sale was Fry's.
They had a 80gb WD SE for $89.00 after rebate.
When I arrived there they were all gone. The only one they had was the 40gb for $49.99 after rebate and the 120gb for $120.00 after rebate.
The only SE they had was the 120 so that is the one I purchased.
That was the easiest HD to set up I have ever ran across.
Everything went smooth as silk.
NOW if I could only retreve all the data from the old drive.
Last Maxter I will ever own.

AI::I wish I had did a backup of the files (downloaded etc) I had on the large partition of the Maxtor that went up in flames this past Saturday. Man that hurt, I have backup of everything prior to the nForce2 realm.
I had began a collection of stuff to use, but now it is all gone.
Maxtor refused to recover anything for me.
All thay stated they would do is replace the drive #$%R%.
I replaced with a 120gb WD SE and I will have to say that was the easiest HD I ever installed.
This is the fastest HD I have ever had bar none.
I looked for the SATA hard drives. There was none here in any stores. The one I found on the web was something over $280.00 for a 80gb Seagate V.
I am not going for that.

I am waiting for the western digital versions at 10,000 rpm :) I want two in the 40 range for a raid 0 setup and use my 160gb for backup ! Sorry about that maxtor.. I lost everything I had to including photo's and all with a maxtor / quantum drive, pics of baby ect before I was smart enough to backup everything on a reg basis... makes me soooooo bitter at that company for their comlete lack of careing when a drive of theres just fails out of the blue for no reason, heck this one was only a day  startd useing the wd se drives and will use nothing else... hope the sata drives are this good :)

As far as I am concerned, the prices are gonna have to change a lot before I would indulge in one of these new drives. I see the Seagate is selling off of price watch for $282.00 for a 80gb drive.
