This may sound like a dumb question, but how do I get my cd player's headphone jack to work? I've got windows XP, a Lite-On 163D dvd drive, and an Audigy Xgamer soundcard.

should just plug it in and walla! but make sure your soundcard is enable and you have the drivers installed.

What kind of speakers do you have?
Most good speakers have a headphone plug, if so just plug in there.
If your speakers do not have a plug, you will need to plug the headphones into the sound card.
It should have a headphone outlet. To determine which is the proper one and how to enable it.
You will need to read the manual that came with the sound card.

That jack is only going to work if you're playing a CD, you realize...

Just making sure...

Yeah, right now, I use my headphones to listen to music so that I can hear it at a considerably loud volume. If you have multiple headphones plugs, you'll have to either bust out the manual or just turn up ur volume and pick a hole, and use process of elimination from there. If this is in fact what you are refering to.
