In response to my queries about soundcard probs, the manufacturers of my Mobo (Sapphire) have suggested that I update all Mobo drivers, and my BIOS, to help windows with Plug and Play detection for the PCI Soundcard.

I've ascertained correct make/model of Mobo, and have downloaded the BIOS update, which is a BIN file.

I'm technically better with internet problems. modems and networking so updating my BIOS is a terrifying prospect.

I've got the BIOS Flash Utility, and a spare floppy for the BIN file, but please could someone explain, step by step exactly what I have to do to update the BIOS?

I've checked some webpages and forums, but am still left unclear as to exactly what to do, and I have no desire to update my BIOS incorrectly and render my new PC unusable.
I would suffer extreme death for this as I didn't pay for it, someone else did.

Many thanks you wise and wonderful people :)

What is the "exact" make and model of the motherboard?

Made by Sapphire, it's the
Axion A3-275 with ATI Chipset.

I spoke to techie at Sapphire (in German, Grrr!) and we've ascertained this is the Mobo I have.

In response to my problems with installing a PCI soundcard, he's advised me to update all Mobo drivers, and if that doesn't work, to update the BIOS.
