are there any legit web sites to d/l add ons for stuff like msn an such?
also where can i get a C++ compiler at? im just learning it right now
to make my own stuff, any tips?

You can check out http://www.arson-network.com/viewtut.php?act=vc&cat=3. There are some C/C++ tutorials and one of them may include a url to a compiler you can use.
