I'm a complete noob at this so bare with me...
I installed MySQL and it appears to be working fine. Created the Datebase using the "mysqladmin create" command and filled the database with tables using my .sql text file provided by PHPnuke.
I then edited the config.php file and added my username and password. However, when I open admin.php or index.php in IE, all I get is text.
What I need help on is where do I put all the PHPnuke files? Do I have to have a web server with MySQL enabled/installed or can I just use localhost on Windows XP like I have running now?
All the resources I find on the internet assume the user has some knowledge of MySQL and PHP. Are there any resources that explain it in more simple terms?

TWL doesn't use PHPnuke?

nope. TWL just uses SSI. Although in the future, we'll be switching to a new CMS (a heavily modified version of the one hardwarepub used).

I have 2 weeks of MS Project and after that, I have intro to programming which will take me to the end of the semester. PHP and Java are going to be covered so maybe I can get a better understanding of it.
For the first time, I'm actually looking forward to doing some programming. :)

Yea, that's what I was thinking. I tried to use XP Pro but from what I've read, it's not the best OS to try to get it to run on. Linux seems to be the best OS for PHP and unfortunatly I don't have a machine it will run on.

some ISP's don't allow that.

If your ISP doesn't allow you to run web server software, they stop you by blocking port 80. This can be circumvented with Apache by going into the httpd config file and changing the line that says "Port 80" to "Port 60" or some other port. Just make sure you choose a port that you don't use! The ISP I am going to be using in the near future blocks port 80 as if they think they can stop me >:)
