Hello:
I'd like to add a four port USB hub to my computer, which has an Asus CUV4X motherboard. I tried hooking up one made by Asound, but Windows XP refused to boot. Does this motherboard or Bios not allow extra USB ports, or did I do something wrong?

Try checking your boot order in your BIOS. Make sure HDD-0 is the first boot device.

Hi vee-ess
Thanks for taking the time to reply. It's a busy weekend and I haven't had time to go into my Bios yet, but what would making sure the boot order is as you suggest do?

Some motherboards allow you to boot off of slot cards and sometimes even peripherals. If your system's boot order starts with something that might possibly refer to a network or just a network drive, such as USB, it might be trying to get it from there. If your boot order starts with your primary master drive, it won't have an opportunity to attempt such a thing.

Thanks, VS, I'll give it a try.
