The first thing that you should check is your FSB and clock-multiplier settings.

Try resetting the BIOS is that doesn't work.

Also, try reseating all of the hardware in your system.

That was my biggest problem on my first computer seating things right

make sure the cables are ALL THE WAY IN and the notches match up

Are lights coming on?
Beeps?

At first I did not have the FSB set right and when I plugged it in I received 1 long beep and then it shut down, I reset the FSB correctly and cleared the CMOS. Now the fans start I have lights but that is it. Did I do damage to it by not having the FSB set correctly? I hope not.. I cannot afford another MB.
Thanks for the suggestions.

is the mobo grounded?
sometimes a screw left on the board can fry it when you power it up

it could be a bad PSU that zapped the mobo too

does the pc speaker even beep when you power the system up?

If you don't have the board on standoffs, then you could very well be shorting out. XFX has really good tech support, I have used them in the past.

I once had a MSI board that did exactly what you described. The fans came on, but nothing happened. I sent it back and got another one, the same thing. It worked for a while, but it just died. I sent it back for a different brand, and it hasn't failed the ppl I built it for yet. It may be a bad motherboard your dealing with, especially with those outdated specs you've got.
