Error message:"New CPU detected" with P4P800 and P

Hello there,
today I updated my CPU with a P4C 2.4Ghz but I have a lot of trouble cos every time I start the PC I get the following error message:"New CPU detected: please F1 to run the Setup, F2 to start loading default setting" (something of the sort...).
So I tried with my mobo Asus P4P800 the BIOS releases 1010 and 1011b2 but it fault.
Anyone can help me?

sounds like your CMOS settings aren't being saved for some reason. Hmmm Are all your other CMOS settings saving properly?

Yes all other setting are okay... I don't, really. I tried also to disable the HT support but the error message is always displayed.
A question: should I see 2 CPUs in the post?


P.S: My mobo is a 1 old...

i have p4p800 deluxe.. i had that once.. when i installed a cpu.. went to bios and left and that was the end of it.. has this always happened? If so, consider RMA. Reset the bios with the jumper and the battery out. If you can continue and it doesn't hurt anything... then maybe just ignore it.
