i had teh 1009 bios, and i just got the 1010 last night, it appears that idle and load temps went down 3-4 degrees C.. odd..

not really.

sometimes, the manufacturer changes certain CPU/MB timings for 'stability reasons' in the bios. I know the ECS K7S5A bios has gotten lower and lower for some timings (why I never update my bios). This puts less on the CPU and can result in a cooler temp.

or...they may have lowered some voltages for the CPU, that can do it too.

Or if it has a variable speed fan they could have set it to kick on sooner and run more. Lots of possiblities.

seems i can't run my memory at very aggressive timings. I got tired of bothering with it so for now i'm at spd.. but it's "low latency" ram so spd isn't too bad for me i guess.. benchmarks so far are not impressive.. yesturday i took off performance mode and memory acceleration mode for a 1 3dmark decrease.. cpu went down and memory went up for pcmark.. i continue to be confused and amazed by this board.
