Hi,
I don't have a lot of experience building computers, but I have done a few and everything went just fine. However, I decided to try this Sapphire A4-M292 motherboard and a 533 Bus, 512Kb cache, PGA-478 2.4Ghz P4 processor, and a 350W power supply. I put it all together and when I power up, I get a keyboard flash, but no display on the monitor and no beep. All I get is the power on light and everything running inside. It just won't post. I followed the clearing CMOS instructions and I think I did that right. I was just wondering what all it could be. I also have two separate 256Mb 266Mhz DDR2100 Ram in there. I appreciate any help.
Thanks

this behavior often occurs when there is a short on the motherboard someplace. (when you say no beeps, you DO have a PC speaker plugged in to the motherboard (not normal speakers, but one of those crappy things), don't you?). put the motherboard on a piece of normal cardboard (use proper static protection when handling your components) and don't bother with harddrives and such now, just plug in ram, CPU and HSF, and vid card and see if i'll boot. (DO NOT TOUCH POWER TO YOUR MOBO IF IT IS ON A CONDUCTIVE SURFACE. THIS INCLUDES ANTI-STATIC BAGS WHICH PREVENT STATIC BY CONDUCTING ELECTRICITY.) If it does, then the short is your problem. See if your mobo is touching the case somewhere. Sometimes the back I/O shield touches the mobo in such a way to as to short it. Use the little brownish red washer-type things for the mobo screws etc to make sure the mobo isn't getting shorted. goodluck
