I have an ASUS P4P800 w/P4 2.8. My problem is that I keep getting an I/O error message when I try to boot from either floppy or CD. Both devices are detected in the BIOS. This is a new system, so there is no Os on the HD. Has anyone had this problem or know what the problem might be? Thanks.

No, neither of these devices are USB. Just standard floppy and CD ROM drives. The lights on both of the devices come on when the computer tries to read them, but everytime I get an I/O error message on both devices.

try reseting the bios to default

I've tried that also.

If I disconnect the HD and CD ROM and just try to boot from the floppy (and change the boot order in the BIOS), I get this message:

"Disk I/O error. Replace the disk, and then press any key."

If I disconnect the floppy and try to boot from the CD ROM (and change the boot order in the BIOS), I get this message:

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key."

RMA? I don't like the mobo anyway.
