I am in a C++ class and I really don't like to do the projects my teacher gives me so I just sit there the whole class. On the school server, theres a folder called NETWORK TRASH FOLDER. My buddies and I put the programs in there and then who ever needs it takes it out and then deletes it out of there right away so the admin can't see. Theres a file in the folder called Trash Map Usage. Is there anyway the administrator can log what usernames/ files go in and out of that folder on the server?

Dont you all have your own accounts with some storage?

or email it to each other?

email would be nice if the program isn't to large and as far as the account storage is usually mapped only to that user via a script which usually only the admin can change the access rights to.

The admin has rights to all folders created within its network enviroment.

yea i see, what im trying to say is, is there software that moniters/logs activity on the server. or does the admin have to physically see it himself?

Both! He can access the Directory physically or he can utilize an app to monitor it.

Those USB keys are nice.. Only thing is at our school's library computers, when I plug in my USB key it recognizes it and all it just says there's not enough power available to power the key in a big far error message. Works fine at home. :\

sometimes public comps require admin access to even let windows to recognize and "install" the USB mass storage devices (eg. thumbdrives)

so it doesnt always work
