View Full Version : Show us where you compute!

After seeing AOC|Prozac's posting his computer area (to show his dual displays) I came up with the following idea: post a pic or two of where you have your computer, and point out some of the 1337 stuff you've got. The idea's also kind of stolen from planetquake.com, but imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?
Anyway, I guess I'll get it started off with two pictures of my latest setup. I've labeled it for your viewing pleasure. My digital camera doesn't have the highest definition, and I'm too lazy to take an actual photograph and scan it in, so you'll just have to deal with it. Also, if I took a photo and scanned it it, my setup would have changed by that time, thus negating the purpose entirely.
Enjoy, and I look forward to seeing what you've got.

That looks like a pretty nice arrangement you've got there, plus a very clean desk. SPAMA little too clean... :o I guess the cords below it make up for it ;).
It also looks like you have a Samsung Uproar. I had one for a few months...and I'd have to say it's a very cool phone.

Did you do the window mod yourself?
Dmitriy

Oh and to point out a few things. Under the desk on the right the black box is a small UPS. Next to the printer on the shelves is my LinkSYS 8 port swithch with CAT 6 cables to my other computer. On the floor under the disk box is a complete box set of Monty Pythons Flying Circus and above the shelves in the "EtherKiller metioned in the Networking board.

Alright..."here's where I computer" I would of posted sooner, but I wanted to get my new server setup, so the picture would be up to date.
Server's giving me problems, as I'm very new with 2K server... So I will just upload my picture...

kfan: Wow, that's a nice-looking setup (hardware-wise, that is). It looks like you've got 802.11, an IBM server, webcam, LCD, a nice Logitech keyboard, Microsoft IntelliMouse Exploerer, a nifty-looking compact keyboard (I'm not a huge fan of the trackball though), CoolerMaster CoolDrive 4002, blue AA Mini-Maglite (I have mine on my computer desk too, but it's not blue), flatbed scanner, and a great fit for your inkjet printer.
I'm not quite sure what the large black cube-like thing is (unless it's a sub-woofer), the device below what appears to be a USB hub, or the device to the left of the compact keyboard (possibly external hard drive?). Great job keeping it looking clean (I was particularily impressed with the wrapped cables going up to your wireless access point (or router, or whatever it may be).
Why are you using that hard wood chair when you've got the nice padded office chair to the right of your desk though?
accurateimage: You've got a nice setup going there too. Dual LCDs...not too shabby. The setup looks very modern. Despite your name, though, the picture doesn't give me the most accurate idea of what all you've got :P. I know how that goes, though. No offense ;).
Grinnin Reaper: Another nice setup here. The room itself looks a little bleak, but I'd rather have bleak than crowded. You seem to have a fairly extensive DVD collection, whereas I have a mere divx collection. It looks like the cordless phone on your left wall could have possibly been located in a somewhat more convenient location, but it's better than mine (plus I can't see the rest of the room, so maybe that's why). I like the black monitor bezel, but now where's the black case, black speakers, and other black peripherals? I have a somewhat reversed setup, but the monitor's a good start.
Let's keep 'em coming people! I love what I've been seeing.
I did clean up a bit for the pic.
The box below the USB hub is a KVM switch. There is a multi-card reader and the device to download into my MP3 player right there as well. The thing on the black cube is a wireless access point, gotta have it for my little lappy. What is the large black cube-like thing?
