My laptop had to be sent to the shop and since it was under his name when they were fixing and reinstalling it they put his name in the computer.....now when i log on (xp pro style not the cheesy log in) it says jeff as the user name how do i change that?

You can't login? or you have to login as Jeff? If account Jeff has admin rights and you can login under his name, then you can create a new account for yourself (make it an admin account).

Users -> Users & Passwords (under 2K, I think it's the same for XP)

stock xp pro has what i think you're referring to as "cheesy log in" but anyway. Yea if it's what it looks like just make a new admin account and then change the name of jeff.
