color logos: I want good detail

I have made plenty of logo's but I cant get a good resolution. I have seen sprays that look really detailed, but when I shrink my pictures down they look like crap....whats the secret??

if you are shrinking the pic's, you have to shrink them to 50% or 25% to keep the same quality. that is because if you shrink 4 pixels into one like shrinking to 50%, it takes the average color of the four, but if you shrink with the mouse or with wierd %'s you will be keeping some pixels and taking out others. then that is how the quality disappears.
