sound blaster live 5.1 platinum

:confused: Hi Guys I have just installed the above sound card and front panel , Havn't really had a chance to try it out as I had to go to work(curses) I went to load the drivers but got the message that they were not compatible as I am loading them on win xp have seen the updates on creatives web sit ( am exploring all this from work especially as my download rate is 32kbs and works is 108 so there are some uses to being here. AM wondering if any one has installed this card on an microstar socket A board ( amd duron 801mhz) the rest of the details elude my memory at the moment, when I tried the card I got no sound is this likely to be the driver or not having disabled the onboard sound jumper?
My first visit to this board and I must say it looks good. Opps I here my boss comming got to go :wavey:

i have the same soundcard and the same live drive bay

ok
i would disable onboard sound
that often creates a driver conflict within windows

try that first

A good hint for people, when you open your box of goodies look through ALL of it, don,t assume that because all the softwear is together thats it, I spent 3 hours downloading the xp drivers because the installation disk was incompatible :cry: To then decide to look through another packet that had promotional material in it and low and behold there was the installation disk for XP :o Live and learn
