ive given up on dvd wirters...i got a nice external one thats dvd rw and only 150.00 so it suits me
speed isnt a necessity

And you call yourself a techie? How can you say speed issint a necessity? my cream machine is a cluster of about 4 million AMD Opterons with about 40000 9800XT's running shotgun or SLI. Of course the heat that beat produces will help warm up Syberia to a nice balmy 140C
Am I expecting too much. . . Nah.
This rig of course is outfitting with all plextor writers.

i mean the difference between 2x and 4x for instance
800mhz and 3.0 ghz is a difference and a good upgrade
im just saying small incraments dont matter on dvd burners much i only use it to backup my comp....just leave it on overnight reformat the next day..........
doesnt take long i tell you!

if the PERFORMANCE change was noticeable i would buy it otherwise you cant tell...

Well I agree on the small incrimental increases being nearly unnoticable, however, when you combine quality and speed the difference becomes noticable. Plextor has both.
There is a reason that they are known as the best.

my mom seems to be set on a dvd/vhs player for x-mas.. do you guys know of a vhs/dvd combo (or some other way) to copy the vhs tapes to dvd's? vhs makes me wanna puke so I don't know much about copying em to dvd's.. if you know and wanna tell me, it'd help.. :nod:
