I have a Serial ATA Seagate hard drive with an Asus AV7600. I'm having trouble installing any operating system, or even getting the BIOS to notice it. How can I get it to work? I put the drivers for the SATA dirve on a floppy, pressed f6 on setup. This seemed to work, but after it loaded, it asked for me to try it again. It does that until my finger gets tired and I exit, because it doesn't work. I tried updating the BIOS with a bit of trouble as well. I just put the BIOS update on a floppy.. then press alt+f2 during post, right? It brings me to the place to update, I type.. what.. the filename? Any help would be nice.

enable boot from floppy in bios.
disable ide hard drives in bios if you have none.
enable all sata features in bios
save and exit bios.
boot from floppy with all sata/raid files (this will load the sata drivers)
setup raid drives (ps...drives is plural. must have at least 2 identical drives. the whole idea behind raid is to join multiple drives. it will not allow 1 drive to be used in a raid config)
load windows and press f6 as you did before
windows should now see the drives and format them
