Default Regulating the Internet ?

If you don't have anything to do, you may find this interesting, the part about regulating the internet. Most everyone is aware of free software and it's hidden costs.

"Consumer concerns over such intrusions are finally being heard. In Washington, the Senate Commerce Committee signed off on a bill last month that among other things targets companies that include tracking software -- known as "adware" or "spyware" -- in their products to collect detailed consumer information used for marketing research."

Yeah, but I didn't know they were actually doing anything about it yet! Besides the great ZoneAlarm, another good program to get rid of any spyware is AdAware because ZoneAlarm can't protect against software that you allow to access the internet, for example the spyware in Download Accelerator.

I have heard about spyware that encapsulates the packets within other common packets, such as internet explorer packets.  I know it can be done, has anyone else heard about this?

Yeah guys, the main thrust of the article was to point out that the U.S.Gov. is now beginning to act on regulating the internet, that could be good and bad, also if they do, then you should no longer need ZA, Tiny, ADW, etc, or will you ?

I know one that works through IE is Hotbar.  I've ran ZoneAlarm and love it but Hotbar ran through IE and No firewall could stop it.  Ad-Aware was the only way to free myself from it.  And I'ld love to see it against the law to watch people's surfing.
