Win 2k Dialup Networking problem

I did have a working W2K machine until I went online to MS and did an auto update! Now after a restart I can make an internet connection but no clients can attach to it! I also have 2 instances of SVCHOST running. The first is about 2,000 K the second around 6200K.
I have also recently run Symantec util to kill blaster.

I never update unless the critical updates are..........critical to what I am doing

i always update everything.. just a tip.. :/
maybe the new patch implemented some security thing you can turn off

Best option that I see is to reinstall OS

just try everything you can think off.. then kill it and reformat.. but i'm no networking pro so i'm not much of a help
