Default Microsoft to buy Yahoo!

Rumor has it Microsoft will buy Yahoo! in November, 2002.  I wonder if they will merge yahoo messanger and msn instant messanger...

Either way, they both are screwed.

Damn, That sure didn't make my day !  If so there goes another Hotmail in the making, I remember when Hotmail was the best and king, then MS bought them and they went to hell in a handbasket.
Yahoo is my best spam free email service.

An ulterior motive exist for sure, as MS just plain ain't going to keep 3-4 email programs updated.

I agree. They are again buying the best freemail service on the web, probably to start making people pay for the service like they are trying to do with just hotmail right now. If you sign up for hotmail, when it comes time to decide if you want the advertised free version or the pay version, it is near impossible to find the link (at bottom of page in small type in the last paragraph) that sends you to the free version signup. In fact some of the links that appear to be for the free version link to the pay version page. If they take control of yahoo and other major email services, freemail may see its end for a while.

yeah since i have had my yahoo account i havent had a single piece of that junk in my inbox, i dont know if it is luck or just that they dont think im worthy of recieving their sorry excuse for e-mail, really i could care less, and in a way im lucky that i dont get spam from them or anyone else for that matter, but the worse that i would have to say for spam would have to be my outlookexpress inbox, that is just rediculous on how much spam is in there, and for my hotmail account, my junk folder poseses about 2 spam e-mails a week, pretty good if u ask me

On all my email accounts except yahoo, first I was besieged with Viagra spam that didn't let up. Then next came the " Penus Enlargement " spam, then I thought that the Larry Flints of the porno spammers were 'pretty hard up' - heh, now of late here comes the 'breast enlargement' spam,
Whats a poor guy to do ?

Well, guess I'll leave that up for you to do, since you brought it up and if you need them. I was referring to the spam recieved - which was the main topic till you posted that.
