I have a HP ze4560us notebook with a built in Broadcom 54g wireless card and a DLink 614+ wireless router. The card works great, until i try to install new software on the computer. After i finish the installation the connection speed drops to slower then 56k and after i restart the computer the wireless card fails to find the access point.
Before i installed any software i had to setup a DNS and an Alt DNS in the TCP/IP options and then run the network wizard and select the option "...Connect through residential gateway". This is the only way that the wireless card was able to find the acces point immediatly as windows loaded..otherwise it would take like an hour for the access point to be found.
I have updated the drivers for the wireless card and the firmware on the router is the latest version. ran the network setup wizard and still this happens. Have tried to reset up the DNS ips in TCP/IP settings. BUt still no connection. The software i installed was things lke OFfice, photoshop, flash, etc. if i uninstall the software..i still get no connection, but if i run a system restore to before the sotware was installed the connection comes up instantly and works without a problem.
Thx for your help!
