Default problem with secure shell for windows

i was trying to connect to my school's computer through secure shell.
i already turn off all the firewalls but it still saying that i have a firewall on....

maybe the school has the firewall? Maybe you have the WIN XP firewall on?

nope... my professor didnt say there is a firewall at school .
and i already turn my xp firewall off already

which secure shell? theres a new version of PuTTy out thats fun.

how do you know you're connecting to your school? it doesn't seem like you know much about what you're connecting to. also you still may be behind a firewall even though it may not be on your computer. :P

It'a Unix computer at school....it's the only computer which has the simulator for one of my courses.....and i know it because i can use a windows computer and the same secure shell at school to connect to that unix computer....just not at home...

my secure shell is SSH Secure Shell....

and the firewall you talked about....how can i get rid off it??

when you enable dmz the router does nothing to protect you
