mozilla suite and firefox are browsers that save this kidn of information, optionally (recommended) in encrypted files. they are also some of the best browsers are the net. firefox requires an extension to save forms, but it all comes in the suite package.

If you're at all paranoid or just concerned about your security, I wouldn't use a program that stores personal information. Why? Well the information is stored somewhere on your comp in some way... and somehow, it CAN be stolen.. though unlikely. I'd rather just keep my info to myself when possible

I've tried Mozilla. Such a nice thing. Thanks. :)

well, at least mozilla uses SSL to encrypt the information, which is the same technology used to send the information over the net to banks, CC numbers to stores etc. So really, it's about as safe as doing all those activities. If you have no problem with online banking, you shouldn't have a problem with (some) of these utilities. Of course, not all programs are created equal, and you should stick to something that is credible (for example, Mozilla is known for having a good implementation of SSL). I can't speak toward these other programs

I don't care what the encryption is. If you are able to access it, someone else is, too.

 What is the problem with GATOR except that it is offerred through a program that uses SHAREWARE?

SERIOUSLY, I have it and NEVER had a problem with it. BUT if you can convince me Y I shouldn't have it I'll switch to MOZILLA.

Thank YOU

Oh boy, Gator is adware, you know those annoying popups you get while surfing the web? You get those from the Gain that Gator installs. You don't want GAIN, I hate it. GAIN MUST DIE!!!

OK, I've just visited the MOZILLA site and from what I understand it is a BROWSER, similar to IE. Gator is a program that remembers my Username and Passwords for all my websites as well as my name and home address and phone number. Can Mozilla do this? If so, can I transfer all my information from Gator to Mozilla or would I have to start all over again?

Think you are going to have to type it all in again

Jason

Jason425 is correct, win98 is insecure by default and you wish to have a program that would store this information on an insecure system. I have to recommend against this.
