n-e-v-e-r!
actually doom is SUPPOSED to be out this month.. I wouldn't be suprised if they just baggeed the whole hl2 program and put it up for DL.. sure they prob won't, but I've seen developers do some stupid things..

no actually it wasn't... I was a April release back in the Holidays but now both HL2 and Doom 3 are "setting forth" an August release... So expect both of them at E3 once again...

well I like to call my self a "Hardcore Gamer".. I have over 200 games in my house spanning multiple consoles and PC's... and its just fun waiting for these games (ie hl2, doom3). The purpose of computing for other "hardcore gamers", such as myself, would probably go around 75% gaming and 25% other... while most people are 50-50 or even 25% games and 75% other.

 Fat chance seeing as how the next generation of cards seem to be playing out! Anyways, as for price, both companies generally are pretty comparable when making reference to price.

...But we haven't seen any benchies yet, so we can't jump ahead of ourselves....

But we can now, because the new ATI is king of the hill! It even beats out the Nvidia Ultra Extreme! (It may run Doom III faster because it's OpenGl)

Not by much though... also, the new nVidia supports DX 9.0c and the new radeons don't... that can prove to be a problem for those cards in the next coming years. But I agree, right NOW ati is leading, but I don't know about the fututre.
