Just got a new cpu amd athlon xp 2.13 ghz and i am trying to install windows xp by booting from the cd but it wont work. im gonna try booting up the windows 98 wayand then launching cd from that but im a computer newb when it comes to these kinds of things..!
can anyone help me? |
Well first of all, what happens when you try to boot from the Windows XP cd? Saying "it don't work" doesn't help us out very much. The first thing that you should do is make sure that you boot order is set correctly in the BIOS. If you have multiple optical drives try booting from another one. Lastly, make sure that your copy of windows xp is actually bootable. Sometimes burned copies can do weird things.

"Wait, what? 28 days till activation?" |
he he You're not really breaking any user agreements MIK3. You have a legal license to XP, you just need to get the key... You're just "borrowing" mine temporarily.

Damn key. I'll have to ask my uncle. Why didn't he just put in on the case where it belongs and make my life easier?
