Default MP3 causing a freeze

hi...can someone tell me why....when I right click on an MP3 icon in my music folder...my system freezes for about 2 seconds, and closes any running programs and returns to the desktop?
hope someone can help

What program are you using to play MP3's winamp?

try scanning for viruses and spyware.. disable most or all startup items in msconfig.. and try again.. that cleaning of your system might be all you need to do.
