anyway. i like 'em. ive got a full tower case and it is a pain to lug that thing back and forth between parties, ive pretty much stopped doing it. plus you can buy normal desktop parts for the SFF PCs in most cases. i agree you can get the same functionality out of a laptop, but itll be a nice thick one. good points all, but i like the sff's.

i think its because you can get a laptops with the multimedia functionality of a PC. ive got my XBox, phone and all sort of stuff runnin through my PC, wireless, sound card, front bay devices, CCLs, not to mention they are easier to work on than a laptop - at least id think so.

Is 4 or 5 thousand dollars really a great buy for something that you know would cost you 2 or 3 thousand to make yourself.

I have been to a few lans and as far has hauling a rig around or using a laptop... I'll haul the rig. As long as I have a flat panel monitor and wheels on the case... I prefer the horse power and fast drive access speeds to really enjoy a game. Of course there are a few laptops out there that will perform, but I just don't have that type of cash and within a year or so the laptop will be pretty hard to upgrade for the same amount of cash I would spend on a rig.

Do you really think that the difference between 2 gigs of DDR2700 or DDR 3200 is going to be noticable? it isnt. far from noticable. affects the framerates on most games very, very little. And it is the TL model.. not the DR (For those reading who dont know, TL is the Thin and Light, DR is the Desktop replacement.) Trust me. The Fragbook is more than adequet for any game i feel like playing. Including DOOM 3 on max res/graphics.
