Default ATI Radeon 9900 Pro in mass production

Um, guys, the 9900 pro was changed to the 9800...! And its out NOW. they didn't scip 2 numbers for this card. going from 9700 to 9900 didn't happen, its 9700 to 9800. Luckly I just return my 9700 before I hurd about the 9800 because I now own the ATI 9800 pro now and beleave me the cards power is much better than the 9700...

Testing it on High Res Set.
1) Morrowind
2) Unreal 2 "oh oh the Graghic's"

---My KICK ASS pc---
Power Supply: 550 truepower
Mobo: GA-SINXP1394 Multi Threading "hehe" $300
CPU: 2.8ghz $550
VPU: 9800 Pro 128mb $399 at bestbuy.com
RAM: 1GB Dual PC2700 DDR333mhz $135

Oh by the way the GAXINXP1394 auto overclocks you CPU to a true 2.81GHZ not a 2.77GHZ as the ones you have on normal Mobo's

I spent $1800+ on my PC and its all worth it...!

im not a PROGAMEFREAK for nothin

actually, i think ATI still plans to make a 9900pro also, or so they said so.
i have no idea what the spec's of it will be like, or what it will compare to, but seeing as how 99 comes AFTER 98 (i went to school) i figure they may yet unveil a 9900pro...
just a wild guess. :/

Default ATI's 9900 + 9900 pro

ATI will release two Radeon 9900 branded graphics cards available later this year. These will be the Radeon 9900 and the Radeon 9900 Pro, as you might expect, and will probably use different R350 chips.

An ATI sales rep reported...

"ATI RADEON 9900 VPU will be manufactured using advanced 0.15 micron copper fabrication process that should allow the graphics chip to be clocked at 375MHz for core and memory... architecture in general should not be changed much from the RADEON 9700: the same 8 rendering pipes with 1 TMU per each. This one will be unveiled at CeBIT and will be available almost immediately after the trade-show head-shooting the arch-rival GeForce FX 5800 Ultra.

ATI RADEON 9900 PRO will be made using 0.13 micron technology and will be hugely more powerful than the brethren. It was said that the part will contain 8 rendering pipelines with 2 TMUs per each in addition to more efficient architecture of the VPU itself compared to the original RADEON 9700. The RADEON 9900 PRO may be announced at CeBIT, but do not anticipate ATI to start selling the babe just after the launch as it is not easy to develop a 0.13 micron graphics processor."

why do they keep referring to changes from the 9700 to the 9900? why aren't they saying the changes from the 9800 to the 9900? maybe the 9900 was renamed to 9800. the 9800 has a core of 380, which is 5Mhz above the core speed which ati annouced its 9900 to be. also this was released almost immediately after the the annoucement of the 5800 Ultra, which is when they said the 9900 would be unveiled and availible. seems like the 9900 mentioned above is the 9800 we have today

yeah but do most games even use that much memory... this is why some gaming companies should make groups for making games for high end gaming computers.

Default 9900 pro 256MB

> nvidia's latest geforce fx has already been defeated and put to shame by ati's radeon 9900pro.

Nvidia's fx 5800 defeats the 9800 pro but is defeated by the 9900 pro by approximately 2500 3d marks hen tested in 3d benchmark 2001, both cards using the same system with default drivers
