Talking Sun solaris and gaming ??

hey everyone,
I'm currently building a computer, and the person i'm building it for has requested that i put "sun solaris" as the os for gaming. From what i understand its a Unix based os that i know next to nothing about, can someone fill me in please on weather it is suitable for gaming, such as world of warcraft, and a generally stable os.

Regards,
Brad.

It is extremely stable, but it is not geared for gaming; rather, it is a very good enterprise OS. This doesn't mean that you cannot game on it, nor that games will not run decently well in it.

Solaris would be considered an obscure OS by the desktop crowd. What's he planning on doing, running everything through WINE?
