Default best spyware virus protection - not free.

A friend of ine is looking in to spending some money on buying some anti-virus/spyware software for his computer. I use free stuff so I'm not much use....anyone have any suggestions here?

Not sure why your friend is adament in "buying" one, but anyway, SpySweeper is rated very high; I believe it may even be the best on the market so far.

I guess he figures that paying for stuff = better service. Like I said, I'm fine with free stuff but he doesn't trust it. shrug.

Spyware Doctor is a pretty decent anti-spyware application as well. Use it for detection even though the trial version won't remove anything after 30 days and it really it quite well done as far as what I've seen. Another for for Webroot Spysweeper as well, which is very decent. You're friend shouldn't have a problem finding either one by the way. Just check out any general electronics store and they should be there.
