sounds kinda iffy to me if you ask me do to the fact of its name...i think that that name in itself is a made name for attraction...due to the 2 most popular OS's (Windows and Linux)  Lindows="Lin"ux and Win"dows"...but i guess i cant say anything about it due to the fact that i have yet to try it out...and having walmart come out with an OS is rather surpising to me?  I wonder if they'll be coming out w/ a next generation "Lindows" maybe they'll call it Winux?!?

Wall-Mart is just distributing it on the new machines.  Thing I don't like is you have to pay a $100 1 year membership fee if you buy it for yourself.  If you got it on the Wall-mart machine that might be nice.  I just haven't heard that much about it yet.

Well if you install FreeBSD 4.6 (5 is around the corner) run KDE Desktop 3.0 - You've basically got a decent system with a GUI. Install Start Office and you're off n running.

No microsoft. I am asumming that's the goal here isn't it? Something other than Microsoft?

There are tones of other options. Granted not all software will run in these environments but hey what do you want?  ;D

Me personally, wouldn't buy a computer running anything from Wal-Mart.
