Default Chaintech AudioExcel AV515M 6 Channel PCI

"Spending big bucks for the latest and greatest hardware has become the norm for us dedicated gamers. We'll settle for nothing less than the best looking picture and the fastest engines in our cases. Great sound is always a plus, but often it is often the last piece of the PC puzzle we think about. So when there is only a few pennies left in the budget then Chaintech's AudioExcel 6 Channel sound card is an option."

I own two of these I picked up for $16 each, I would not live wihout them, definitly 10x better than the super crappy onboard soundstorm crap in the nforce boards.

soundstorm is so controversial

the quality is better than Audigy 1 and comparable to Audigy 2

yet alot of ppl hate it

i dislike it
because its portings are weird
there is no option for FR, FL on green and RR, RL on black

the nvidia audio control panel isnt as good as Creative SB Live! 5.1 Platinum's driver set

how is the driver support on this c-media?

Okay, now this card has piqued my interest.... how would it compare to the SBLive 5.1 I am currently using? Or is it more comparable to a typical onboard 5.1 solution?

sounds much better than any non cmi onboard I have ever heard My bud got rid of his SB card when he heard mine, this is the same audio setup found onboard the soyo dragon boards. I give it a 5 out of 5 and it is dirt cheap! Plus you get spdif output and input with fiberoptic and also coax digital.
