Default Linux Permissions Question...

ok, i'm running Debian Sarge.

anyway, say i have a directory called "that/"

i want the user "him" to have full access to that directory and its files, but root created it.

so i'm logged in as root, "chmod -R 755" only gives root full access, and the world can only read and execute.

so my question is, how do i (root) give "him" full access to the directory and its files?

thanks!

eh, root has power over all anyway. so i just made "him" owner of the directory and all its contents.

my real problem now is samba. trying to get user security working, right now all i can get to work is share level. using SWAT, sambas web interface to configure it. bah, i'll figure it out one day.
