Default Late is better than never...news for Tuesday

Dark Tweaker posts a review of the Soyo KT400 DRAGON mainboard, enjoy the translation mistakes.

Active Hardware reviews the Athlon XP 2700+ with the 333MHz FSB: A new era has commenced: The AMD Athlon front-side bus has finally graduated from 133MHz (266MHz DDR) to 166MHz (DDR333). We couldn't hesitate to say that the new state of affairs is quite welcome. Even with the new speed-boost, though, the new 333MHz Athlon bus still lags 400MHz behind the 533MHz (133MHz, quad-pumped) bus of the Pentium 4. Whatever thecase, the new release is excellent news for all, and we're delighted to be testing the new beast, and seeing if it lives up to everybodies long-held expectations.

Overclockers NZ has posted a review of the Gigabyte KT400 GA7VXP Mainboard: "VIA released another "new" Socket462 chipset to the market, the KT-400. People are asking, what are the improvements over KT-333? The answer? Not many, I am afraid. The memory controller is left untouched thus do not expect a "huge" increase in performance when running at the same FSB and memory ratio. The new features are: AGP 8X support, increased bandwidth between the north and south bridges, and unofficial DDR-400 support. The unofficial support for DDR-400 really makes you wonder why they name it as KT-400? I personally think the DDR-400 is a temporary solution and maybe superseded by KT-400A or KT-466 with unofficial support for DDR-466. Anyway, enough rants on KT-400, let get on with the Gigabyte's KT-400 offering, 7VAXP."

OC Addiction rounds up a few GeForce4 Ti-4200 64MB cards: "Here is a basic look at each card, what it comes with, what we were able to overclock it to, and our general thoughts on each of them. Notice by the overclocked speeds it says "Max STABLE Overclock". Stable means just that, stable. These are the highest speeds we could get the cards to run and suffer no visual anomalies even after 30 minutes of hardcore gaming. These cards can all truck thru 3DMark at higher speeds, but not without looking like ass, and that's just not acceptable. "

With the token HSF review, Frosty Tech looks at the Coolink H1T heatsink: "The Coolink H1T is the smaller brother to the Coolink H2T heatsink which features slightly larger 70mm fans. Equipped with two 60mm fans, the Coolink H1T is really meant for slightly less powerful processors, and quieter operation. With very few differences, we'll have to see just how much of a difference there is between these two almost identical models from Coolink. What makes the Coolink H1T standout from the crowd is first of all its copper base plate which is dip brazed to the base of the aluminum extrusion (which has been nickel plated for that purpose). The manufacturer also mentions that the aluminum has been copper plated (as part of the overall plating process), but I seriously doubt that the thin copper coating will add any measurable advantages to this heatsink in terms of thermal performance."
