Default SP 2

The system administrator at my school wants to install SP2 onto the computers but he hears that there are several large security holes/problems.

In a large network enviroment is SP2 worth it? Aproximately 50-100 computers.

Are there holes?

On a side note...why does SP2 screw up 64 bit systems so much more?

of course it's worth it.. the firewall and the other underlying crap... just don't use 64 bit... I doubt your school is running many 64 bit comps..

there are more security holes in SP1 patched than SP2
what he has to do is to test SP2 on just one machine first
see if it works with that hardware/software configuration

if so, then apply to all

the firewall is fine, especially when there is a big fat hardwall firewall like most large networks have.
