Default Minimum Specs to Run Vista

Microsoft has set up a website to explain the minimum specs to run Vista.

Are you Vista Ready?

My computer seems to meet the specs for premium even though I have not updated any part of it for over a year. The only question I have is on Windows Aero. I obviously am ingorant on this as I have never heard of Windows Aero before... so I do not know if my video card supports it or not.

Here's the real (and most important) question: Is YO MOMMA Vista ready?

(Aero simply requires a dx9 card)

LOL. My momma uses windows 98!

I did find out about the Aero thing, thanks for the answer. There is a downloadable program on that page that will check out your system and tell you which components you need to upgrade.

Mine passed with flying colors.

Requirements are lower than I expected...yet they're still pretty high for people that only need it for very basic functions. (how many time did you hea some people say that they only use it for Words and chatrooms...)

Nah, she's on XP

And yeah, 512MB is higher than most computers....but do you really want a full 512MB of RAM used solely for your operating system?

Hopefully this will be managed once you enter a game...

I'll be going to 2gb before I go to Vista... 1gb likely won't cut it like I want it cut.

The way to go will probably be with a 64bits system. 2^32 is around 2Gig (edit: erm yes, 4gig), thus the limitation for the Ram...but 64bits system is 2^64 which is...oh so very much :/

I say buy a shack, buy whole lot of ram, and find a way to make it work on a single computer.
