Default WD 120 GB 8 MB Buffer $50

I haven't actually done this, but intend to do so tonight.

Micro center is offering a Western Digital 120 GB Special Edition (8 MB buffer) for $150 after an "instant rebate." CompUSA will do a price match on the $150, and they then offer a $100 mail-in rebate. This equates to $50 + tax on $150 ($59.75 where I live). I'd buy four of these if I had $600, but alas I'll have to settle for 2 (btw, you need a different mailing address, and different method of payment if you plan on buying two drives...aka, one per household). I believe this ends tomorrow.

I tried this at Best Buy and Office Max.

Office Max didn't have any in stock and the "manager" was kind of a jerk about it. If I'd thought about it at the time, I would have said something like "hey, nice customer service attitude"...oh well.

Best Buy was also out of stock on these. I didn't bother talking to anyone about it though.

I never tried compusa though.

As far as I know, the microcenter price is good thru 9/29. I don't know what the deadline on the rebate is at the other places.
