Default Whats under the hood of your box? Doom 3 HL2 ready or not?

Whats under the hood of your box? Are you Doom 3 HL2 ready or not?

The facts are below:

Half Life 2:

Apparently a 700mhz processor and a video card capable of running DX6 is enough, although a 2ghz with a GeForce4 is recommended. Rumors about NVidia or ATI exclusivity are unfounded.

Doom 3:

System Requirements - Recommended by PC Gamer:
2GHz CPU
512 MB Ram
Radeon 9800
5-Channel Audio

Supported Graphics Cards:
Ge-Force 4 MX
Ge-Force 3
Ge-Force 4 Titanium
Ge-Force FX (and higher)
ATI 8500, 9000 (and higher)

Looks like everyones belief that Doom 3 will be the more graphic beast could very well be true. Judging from what I saw in the "demo" I very much doubt that a G3 will do the job in a playable fashion, and even more so a G4MX, only time will tell.

Post what you have and what you think of these upcoming games.

My main rig:

AMD 64 3800+ 939
Asus A8V
1GB Corsair XMS PC3200LL
Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB

My Backup Rig:

AMD64 3000+ 754
Albatron K8x800Pro II
1GB Crucial PC3200
PNY Geforce 4 Ti4600 128mb

I should be able to run the game on both, but with what success?

i think my main rig below should handle both games in Medium settings.. maybe even high depending on how optimized the games' engines are to different comps. Jason, defanatly your top rig should be able to run both games on high, your backup is actually a pretty good comp, but I think prob around meduim settings for both games.

I'm on a 1.0GHz and I'll still run it, and I'm betting without any hitches...

I've put this together in the last month, if this doesn't run it all on max, I'm buying a Game Cube & start playing 'cute' games.
