Cubitek Mini-Tank Case Review

Conclusion

The Cubitek Mini-Tank follows in their line of gaming cases, and stays true to their design goals. It is easy to work on (or as easy as a mini can be), and they included the tools needed. The front panel cords are just the right length to tuck away into the cable routing grooves, and the front USB 3.0 ports can be routed to the external ports of the motherboard, or plugged into a 3.0-capable port on the motherboard using an adapter Cubitek included.

My only criticism for Cubitek’s planning is in the interior fans. The cords from them are super short (3″ or so), and don’t have a hope of reaching the motherboard. Cubitek included an extension cord to resolve that, which even splits the connection from a single fan power port to … two ports. For the three fans. The only way you’ll get all three fans plugged in at once is with an extra adapter (since it won’t reach to the motherboard by itself, even if the board has a second fan plug). Cubitek could have made the splitter reach all three fans, or even included a 4-pin to 3-pin adapter, but that was neglected. However, that’s a small complaint for a solid case, and it’s easily remediable by a trip to the computer parts store (or online ordering). I can’t help but recommend the Mini Tank for any gamer who wants to set up a mini-ATX board for LANs.
