Draft N finally gets Ratified
D-LINK’S COMPLETE LINE OF 802.11N
WI-FI PRODUCTS COMPLY WITH
NEWLY RATIFIED IEEE STANDARDFOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Sept. 14, 2009 – D-Link, the end-to-end computer networking solutions provider for consumers and businesses, today welcomed the long-anticipated final ratification of the 802.11n standard for wireless networks. All of the company’s 11n Wi-Fi home routers and business solutions comply with the latest wireless technology and have done so since long before the final ratification.
As one of the first networking companies to implement the updated draft 2.0 of the standard into its products, D-Link worked with major semiconductor manufacturers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Standards Review Committee (RevCom) early in the development process.
D-Link’s current line of 802.11n routers include the following:
· DIR-615 Wireless N Router
· DIR-625 RangeBooster N® Router
· DIR-628 Rangebooster N Dual Band Router
· DIR-655 Xtreme N® Gigabit Router
· DIR-685 Xtreme N Storage Router
· DIR-825 Xtreme N Dual Band Gigabit Router
· DIR-855 Xtreme N Duo™ Media Router
· DGL-4500 Xtreme N Gaming Router
This is likely just the first of many companies which will announce that their products already comply with N. It will be more interesting to take note of those that don’t make announcements that their products work with the new N standard.

I am tempted to get one huge card for HD video. Maybe a 32GB card. The photos are more important to me so keeping my video in one place and having the space to record a lot without changing cards would be handy. But then I’d have to keep changing cards whenever i shoot video. Not so handy.
