RageGage Desktop Computer Gaming Toy

What is it (cont.)

Ragegage- Button Ragegage- on-off
The button as it is, has a gel cushion and a plastic frame.

There isn’t much to the ragegage when it comes to buttons and switches. Shown here is a roller switch that turns on/off and adjusts the volume of the gage.

Pretty simple design with a lot of potential for the consumers.

Ragegage- USB port Ragegage- gage lights
Shown here is the USB port for the USB cable (provided). Which with rage connect (found on the ragegage website (here) you can upload new sounds or play game. The ragegage lights shown here are progressive in color are your rage meter goes up in strength.

The ragegage doesn’t just play back preloaded sound bites, it also is a button to be used for games too. With the ragegage software called rage connect (download at www.ragegage.com) you can connect the ragegage via a USB cable and launch the rage connect software and play the ragegage games on their website or download the games and play them on your PC.  The software install took less than a minute and the games were fun, but I hope that there will be a flexible plug-in that will use the ragegage as a gauge for how hard to swing a golf club or punch an opponent in a boxing game (no matter the gaming vendor). Though as the ragegage is today, there is a lot that can be done with it.

Software

The ragegage doesn’t come with software in the box, but rather it can be downloaded from their web site. No CD to keep track of and you always get the latest version regardless of purchase date.

The Ragegage Connect software can be downloaded from www.ragegage.com. File size is roughly 7MB. After the ragegage connect is installed an icon sits in the system tray where you can click and launch this small window of options.

The ragegage connect software is a very simple install of (next, next…). Once installed connect your ragegage and do a firmware update and your ready to go. It is just that simple.

The ragegage regagerator is another roughly 7mb install which once installed, gives you the ability to create your own sound bites to be played on your ragegage. The menu driven regagerator software allows you to use the sound packages from the www.ragegage.com website or with sound bites you created yourself can be loaded on your ragegage.

Conclusion

The ragegage is an all-around fun toy to have and with plenty of additional features and options such as playing games and generating your own sound bites. The ragegage is worth every penny spent.  So, if you are looking for a gift for the person that seems to have everything, or has way to much rage, the $19.95 is a small price to pay. The ragegage has been a great gadget to have around the office. It has broken a lot of tension (rage) and got us thinking of what sound bites should be uploaded to our ragegage next.
