Altec Lansing M812 Wireless Speaker System

Altec Lansing

Final Thoughts:

The system was extremely easy to setup and have running within a few minutes. Once you have all of the plugs correctly connected per the manual. We 1st placed our iPod Touch in the dock base and pressed the power button on our remote to initiate power to the system. We then held the standby button for a second or two on the dock base and right away the LED lights all came to life and we noticed the speakers LCD display read "IPOD" in the window, which indicated that the dock and speaker were synchronized. It just doesn't get any better than that for simplicity in setting up a high tech wireless speaker system. The sound that emanated from the speaker system was amazing. The music was clear and static free at more than 75 feet from the location of our dock base and we really appreciated the fact that it has three frequencies to transmit on so that this wireless speaker system can co-exist with other wireless devices within the home that might also function on the same 2.4GHz frequency range. Our own location had a wireless router running to test for interference, and we are very happy to report we received absolutely no interference what-so-ever during the entire course of our tests, using a volume range from 20-30 (easy listening) all the way up to the sound blasting +70 volume range which filled the location with the best sound this reviewer has had the pleasure of listening to.

Conclusions:

We would like to first thank Altec Lansing for providing their new M812 Wireless Speaker System for the iPod for us here at TechwareLabs to review, as this was a true joy. From its' very easy to follow Quick-Start Guide which allowed us to get set-up and running in very little time (approx. 15 min from box-open to test) with absolutely no problems at all; to the deep rich sound that emanated from their wireless speaker which filled the room with our favorite music even to the amazingly loud levels (+70 volume) that would be welcome at any pool or patio party you may conduct at your home. The wireless speaker system is true genius, allowing the home owner to conveniently place the wireless speaker itself anywhere inside or outside the home, just plug it in and within seconds you will be listening to your iPod music at a far higher fidelity than you can achieve by listening thru your headphones. We here at TechwareLabs would like to state that we highly recommend the purchase of this device for your home, office, or as a gift for your favorite audiophile. We can truly appreciate and agree with the award for Best Innovation at the CES show that the Altec Lansing Wireless Speaker System received. The M812 is not available for purchase yet, so we cannot provide links to actual item.
