Test results

We installed into the Quarterback case the following machine and discovered the same results as Sunbeamtech.com claim on their site for the Quarterback case.

Test machine build up:

AMD 3800+ X2 with OEM Heat sink
NVIDIA Geforce 7950 X2
2X 1GIG Corsair DIMMs
Sound Blaster Live
Intel 1000 BX NIC
2X Western Digital SATA 80GIG hard disks
1X Western Digital SATA 120GIG hard disk
AOPEN DVD Optical drive
750Watt Corsair Power supply

To see what they posted, click here and then choose the Quarterback. The over all results were a two to three degrees cooler inside the case due the through put of air being pumped through the case by the four 120mm fans.

Results of SUNBEAMTECH.com's testing

Conclusion

The Quarterback case with its patented mid-case 120mm case fan design is very original and through testing done by TWL and SUNBEAMTECH.com, it does keep the internals of the case a few degrees cooler. The Quarterback does fall short on additional features or looking a little more than just a plain run of the mill computer case. Also with the flimsy front gate like door, we found it better pulling it off rather than leaving it connected since putting a DVD in the ROM drive was a little inconvenient. All in all, the Quarterback case with the case fan locations keeping the CPU a few degrees cooler is definitely thinking out of the box.

If SUNBEAMTECH.com releases a second revision of Quarterback, we would like to see them lose the door, move the USB and audio ports to the top and front of the case. Maybe add some sort of paint job or color scheme that would grab a bit more attention.
