SilenX Power Supply

Review by Jason Jacobs on 12.01.03
Power Supply Provided by SilenX Corporation Base Price: $89.95

SilenX 400 Watt PSU:

The SilenX 400watt power supply is rated at less than 14dba and has average ratings for its power rails.

The SilenX was installed into a Lian Li PC60 with the following system:

Abit NF7-S
AMD Barton 2500+
512 MB PC3200
Western Digital 800JB
Western Digital 800BB
Lite-On 16X DVD
Lite-On 32x12x40 CDRW
Onboard NIC
Albatron 5900 Turbo

There were no installation problems with the SilenX. The rear fan is countersunk into the casing and is flush with the rear panel. SilenX attemps to compensate for the single fan design by providing plenty of ventilation at the front of the casing. Ventilation in the sides of the casing would certainly have added to the overall airflow.
