PolarFLO Water Block and Fan Adapters

On the Inside

Here you can easily see the reason why PolarFLO is able to deliver low temperatures. As you can see the copper plate that forms the water block's bottom has been further milled to increase water turbidity, surface, area, and maximize heat transfer.

The bottom plate is held in by six allen head screws, which secure it to the aluminum top. A perfect water tight seal is formed through the means of a rubber O-ring as you can see in the picture.

The center tube carries cold water from the radiator right onto the center of the copper plate which should be the hottest part as it is positioned over the core. Two outlets that can be seen on either side of the central inlet carry water away from the core to the reservoir or pump. This dual outlet design ensures that water does not idle in one place where the water pressure can force it to stay. This design also ensures that optimal flow is achieved at a lower pressure. Lack of flow and restrictions which cause pressure are the two main problems with water systems that can lead to higher temperatures. Finally it must be mentioned that bottom surface on the PolarFLO is lapped extremely fat and to a near mirror surface. As with the fan adapters is needs to be seen to appreciate the amount of work that must have gone into the block to achieve the finish on the contact area.

Conclusion

Overall this block is a very impressive peice of equipment. It performed extremely well against the compared models, beating both the Danger Den Maze 3 and the Innovatek Innovacool Rev. 3. It not only returns excellent results, but it looks aesthetically pleasing. These two things are what most consumers hope for when they buy a waterblock, but don't always achieve. We would like to thank Stephen Lovas from Horse of Iron for the sample PolarFLO waterblock and Fan adapters. Excellent products from a great producer.
