Brite Strike Blue Dot Series Flashlight
Testing
Upon First receiving the Brite Strike Blue Dot Series Flashlight I knew this was a flashlight like no other. This flashlight was "designed for police officers, by police officers" so I had to get a police officers help. Luckily enough, I came across a police officer that was more than willing to help. This police officer said that perhaps the most important thing to have on a night shift is a good flashlight. I gave him the light and asked him to tell me what he thought of it. He responded as follows:
Pros:
- It is small and light, bulky, heavy equipment can get in the way if something goes wrong
- Fits perfectly in your hand and the ends can double as a defensive weapon if necessary
- EXTREMELY bright
- Strobe feature is good for either signaling other officers or to temporarily disorient an aggressive detainee
- "Lo" setting is good for instances where the extremely bright light isn't necessary
Cons
- "Blue Dot" on the back is sensitive
- Little on the expensive side
The officer also thought that manufacturer BlackHawk made a similar flashlight for less than half the price. We later researched this and found that they do in fact make a flashlight that is similar but not nearly half as bright. There are models that are less expensive than this one, about the same price as the BlackHawk, only better and brighter.
We did everything that you could do to this flashlight. Brite Strike claims that this light is shock proof - so we threw it off of a three story building. Brite Strike claims that this flashlight is water proof - we threw it in a pool. Heck, they said it was made of aircraft aluminum - we ran it over with a car! Nothing - absolutely nothing. We were unable to damage this flashlight in any way. Not even a scratch. The two police officers that designed these flashlights must have had some pretty bad experiences with their flashlights, because in designing the Blue Dot Series, they have accounted for everything.
Conclusion
Its not that often that you come across a flashlight that costs $200, then again, its not every day you come across a flashlight that actually makes you stop in your tracks. The Brite Strike Blue Dot Series Flashlight is one of a kind and although on the expensive side, a great buy. Whether you are a police officer, a backyard mechanic, or just your regular old average joe that got a flat tire in the middle of nowhere, you will love this flashlight. At about five inches long and an inch wide, this flashlight is neither too big, nor too small. The Brite Strike Blue Dot Series Flashlight is perfect for any application
