Sisoft sandra professional was used to give readers a good overview of the memory, cpu, cache, and multimedia capabilities of this board. After TWL looked at its stock performance we will present overclocked scores.

As you can see there is a healthy bump in performance when the system is overclocked. The system achieved a stable overclock of 2239mhz. These scores were taken at an overclock of 2153 mhz. At 2239 the system was stable within windows and for normal computing tasks, however, within CPU intensive tasks the system would occasionally produce errors. Graphic intensive operations (games or 3DMark applications) would show graphic artifacts and lockups.

TWL suspects the lockups and instability is not due to the CPU or memory but rather the PCI/AGP bus being overclocked. The VIA K8T800 Pro chipset should eliminate these problems. TWL would love to see a K8X800 Pro II board based on the newer VIA chipset. Such a board would be a serious contender against all other boards currently on the market. An overclock well in excess of 2500mhz from this processor could be expected with proper cooling.
