Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 2.0

Review by Jason Jacobs on 4/21/04
Wireless Desktop Provided by Microsoft

Conclusions:

After use of the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 2.0 for a three week period, the original batteries still provide full life as shown by the software. In the end Techwarelabs would suspect you will need to replace the batteries a little more often than the six months advertised and so we recommend a good set of rechargeable batteries which would need recharging every two to three months of average use. If you are a LAN gamer we would recommend that you look into the Bluetooth Wireless Optical Desktop which will provides extended functionality with regards to distance and number of devices capable. If you are an average home/office user, then the Wireless Optical Desktop 2.0 is just what you may be looking for. It has all the functionality you require and will doubtlessly make your work easier without the strain of fighting the mouse and keyboard cords.

Pro's:
Easy to Use
Cleans up Messy Dangling Wires
Software is Optional and Easy to Configure
Function keys Perform Flawlessly
Battery Life is Excellent

Con's:
Mouse is not Well Suited for Gaming
No more than 2 full Wireless Sets Can exist Within a 6 Foot Radius Without Interference
